In simple terms, a Renewal of Vows is a ceremony in which a married couple reaffirm their commitment to each other. It usually takes the form of a ceremony similar to a marriage ceremony, in which the couple either exchanges the same vows from their wedding day, or new vows they have written for the occasion.
A Renewal of Vows Ceremony can be celebrated at milestones anniversaries throughout a marriage, 1, 5, 10, 25, 30, 50 etc . There are no rules or legalities involved and a Renewal of Vows can be done at any time throughout a marriage. For a married couple, this can be a time for them to pause and reflect on the journey that they have taken together, where they have been and where they are going.
A Renewal of Vows ceremony will give you both the opportunity to say "thank you" to one another, to say that you would do it all over again, and will allow you to reaffirm your commitment to making all of your tomorrows as good as their yesterdays have been.
How does a Naming Ceremony differ to a Christening? A Naming Ceremony will most often not be held in a church, and they also have the option to either include or omit religious content. Unlike a Christening, they also are not officiated by a priest or a member of the clergy.
Naming Day ceremonies are not just for babies either! A lot of people choose to combine a ceremony with a child’s first birthday, but children of any age can have a Naming Day ceremony.
The ceremony can take any format and be as simple as a welcome to the world, a formal naming of the child, or a blessing for the baby and family.
